Big Thanks!

The wonderful Julia at Hooked on Houses featured my kitchen makeover today, and while I should be all full of myself about it, I'm actually pretty darn humbled. "My little kitchen...aww, you shouldn't have." Thanks Julia!

You can read more details about the makeover here and here.

And I wanted to give a big thanks to those of you out there that have multiple decorating personalities like I do. It feels so much better knowing you're not alone.

Here are a couple of my favorite comments from yesterday:

I have the same problem. In fact, my twins argue according to season.
I just can't resist all white ktichens with little splashes of color in the
spring time. But around Fall and winter, I crave me some heavy bold colors and beautiful black distressed cabinets.
- Katie
I'm not a Gemini but I suffer from the same split decorating personality. There are always at least two different directions I want to go with any decor project. I think of it as the Plague of Overinspiration. - Rebekah

And finally....the one that sums it all up.

I am a Gemini and am currently in the process of painting all of my
previously-painted white furniture black. :)
- flowerpatchfarmgirl

THANK YOU! It's so good to know I'm not alone. And neither are you apparently :-).

Congratulations! I remember reading your post on your kitchen a while back - and it is indeed worthy of featuring on Hooked on Houses - simple but extremely effective changes!

Ah, I have always loved your kitchen and your new house kitchen is just beautiful too! I have a split personality when decorating too. I love the look of white and the airiness (spelling?) but I get heartburn when I think of the cleaning I'll have to do with it. LOL Thats why my house is all brown because of the twins, dogs, and, dirt. Living in the desert on dirt roads out in the toolites makes a girl go crazy!

You liked my comment enough to include it in a post?!?! Now who's humbled? :)

AnNicole, is that right. Pretty name. I just found your site, through Hooked on Houses blog, and love it. I really like your style, and being a single mother myself, love the idea of thrifty anything!! I too have a son, he is 12 and the joy of my life. I look forward to seeing all of the things you do to your home. Congratulations by the way. Big accomplishment. I own a condo myself... little afraid of all that comes with a house (maintenance, yard work, etc.) Did you feel the same way when you purchased? Being a single mom and all.

Oh, and BTW... your trip to Italy looks like it was so nice.

Love all the comments! I'm not a Gemini either but I'm the same way.

I LOL at your pottery barn lifestyle! Too funny.

Also, love what you did with the Ikea curtains.

Can you tell I'm behind? For some reason my G reader messed up and I didn't see your posts.
