Am I the only gal out there that wants to change the décor of a room once a year…at least? In fact I almost named this blog "The Compulsive Decorator", but it felt a little too intense for a blog title. I recently showed you my master bedroom which was the first room I put together when I moved into my house last April, and all of the sudden I have the urge to take it in a different direction. It hasn’t even been a year people!
I don’t know that I want to tackle a change in my master bedroom yet (I still haven’t redone the master bath for heaven’s sake!), but here’s the inspiration that's been haunting me.
(I'm so sorry-I can't remember where I found this photo)

Erika is a real designer, and I wish I could be as talented as she is. This is her beautiful
twin sister Darby in the photo.
After seeing these pictures, can you blame me for feeling inspired? The look is a more serene than my current bedroom, and a little more sophisticated but still comfortable.
I love the simple but classic upholstered headboards, creams, grey green-blues, and mushroomy tans. Hmmmmm….. This is something to ponder.

I can see why you want to redecorate, your inspiration photos are amazing. They look very relaxing.
I've seen that photo before ( The one that you don't remember where from)
I can't think of it either! LOl
But I love it. That bedroom is sooo beautiful!
Your bedroom will be just delightful! And those buttons... oh my, I'd like a set myself... they'd be so perfect in my sewing room! :)
I'm the same way, constantly wanting to change things. I'm already looking at my kitchen thinking hmmmmmm.....and we just redid it last summer.
The pictures you posted are all beautiful. All restful places to sleep.

I know exactly what you mean....My house will NEVER be finished....because it's an ever-evolving process. I don't paint every year but I tweak and move things ALL the time!
I'm pretty sure you are compulsive! If I buy your ticket do you want to spend a long weekend with me and my house?!
You should think about posting Matthew's room for Blue Monday.
Ha! Thanks Elizabeth. You're so right! My aunt who lives 4 hours away is begging me to come up for a weekend so I can redo her entire house. Oh yeah...I could do it. Some call it "motivated and hardworking", in reality it's compulsive :).
All gorgeous rooms and all to my taste as well. I love serene and graceful, understated rooms. And yes, as soon as I get one room decorated, I want to go back and re-do another. I still have half the house to do!
I will be back to read more and I've bookmarked your lovely blog! ANd thanks for visiting me too!

Hi there
Just stumbled across your blog while visiting Terri's Windlost blog (one of my favourites). Love your blog, and love reading how a fellow single mum of a boy goes about decorating her home. We may live half a world away, but I think we have lots in common!
Love, Love, Love it all! you have such great taste!
Very Beautiful and Inspirational!! A bedroom has to be romantic don`t you think? Flowers and gorgoeus bed sheets are for me a must.
Have a lovely week!
