Did anyone see the new Twilight movie over the weekend? I thought it was pretty good! Although, I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that “movie Edward” isn’t my “book Edward”. No offense to Robert Pattinson….you were lovely in Water for Elephants…
…but you kind of creep me out in the Twilight movies…and I’m so sorry sweetie-pie, but you’re just not my Edward.
This is who I always pictured when I read the books (Chace Crawford):
Am I right?! Do you need more visual aids? I happen to have some right here…
“Hey baby, did you know that the sunlight makes me shimmer like
Carrie Underwood’s legs in that Remind Me video?”
“Tell me what you are. Say it!” “I’m a ruggedly handsome vampire. Duh!.”
“What, Edward? What do you see?!” “Dang! My marble-like chest looks really, really good in this shirt.”
Uh hum….but on to the real reason for this post. While watching the movie over the weekend, my little eyes perked up when I saw one of the rooms in the Cullen house. Here’s an impromptu (and really not very good) rendering (do you like the forest in the background?):
It kind of made my heart go pitter patter, and I immediately began taking mental notes: linen slipcovered sofa, ticking stripe pillows, cable knit throw, gray accents. I’m pretty sure I whispered a not-so-subtle “yessssss” under my breath.

Pillows: Restoration Hardware
Did anyone else think the same thing when you saw this room in the movie? Are you overly concerned that I happen to have three Photoshopped photos of “MY Edward”? :-)

I haven't seen the movie but I LOVE your room design! So nice to see your articles popping up again, would love to hear from you more!!!

We didn't make it to the movie Thursday night because of nasty colds... hubby fell asleep at 8:00 which is HIGHLY unusual. Oh I so agree about Edward. Having seen David (as in THE David...in person as a child, yep it was pretty traumatic because I had never seen a naked body and here I am in Italy seeing LOTS of naked bodies in marble... looking back it wasn't THAT traumatic! haha!!) I was seriously disappointed when I saw "Edward" in the movie. Where was the chiseled perfection? The refined ruggedness? Hmm... now I think your specimen is much more appropriate but I would need to see how he shimmers and glistens! Ha ha!! Sorry I digress....
Isn't that living room simply DIVINE!! Have you seen it in any of the other movies? Oh man the set designer for that house is incredible! And I do know what you mean about wanting to yell out "YES!" because that room is so... I can't even come up with a word. Inviting? Stunning? You name it!
Have a great week!
I agree with ya on the living room. That house was stunning. I do not, however agree about Edward, but to each their own. I think him and "Bella" have great chemistry.
I read all of the Twilight books along with my teenaged daughter but, after seeing the first movie at a midnight show, I've never watched any of the others, not even on DVD. Yes, I was THAT disappointed. He was kind of cute as Cedric Diggory, but I agree that he is no Edward.
So glad that you are back. I have missed your blog!
Ha! This post made me smile ;->

I haven't seen the movie either, but really like your room design. Love ticking covered pillows. Great to see you posting! Take care - Sonnie
Love your room design...stunning! Can't agree about Edward though. lol Each time I see a Twilight movie (and I've seen them all numerous times) I marvel at how Robert Pattinson can go from brooding vampire to goofy boyfriend. He has that down 'pat' so to speak. Case in point. In the latest film during the wedding kiss he has that sullen, brooding, dark and mysterious profile as he is kissing Bella. The on the honeymoon after he has worn Bella out after their hiking trip and he covers her with the blanket, he has that little boyish goofy grin on his face...no vamp vibes in that scene. I also like his 'angry' Vampire face when he is protecting Bella. I read the books 3 times and RP did not disappoint. At 56 I'm no crazed teenage fan, lol, I just think he has grown into the role perfectly. As for chiseled perfection, he may not have 'the build' of a weight lifter, but he's supposed to be 'fast', not necessarily 'strong'. I didn't imagine him having big muscles. I imagined he would be gaunt thin. And that profile (his nose, chin) just seem chiseled enough. It's amazing what make up can do!
I went out and purchased one of the Pottery Barn throws because of you!
Speaking of photoshopping...my throw while lovely and warm, isn't nearly as crisp and shiny-looking as the Pottery Barn image. haha
Every now and then I pop by to see if you've updated your blog and was so happy and surprised to see you have! Great to hear from you again. :)
Yay! I'm so glad you're back. Also, though I'm not sure about RP as Edward, the main reason I nearly shouted for joy when I saw this post is that gorgeous pottery barn throw! I love the room and *I have that throw!* but it wasn't $119.00 at pottery barn. It was $30 at my local Kohl's. I'm squealing that I have pottery barn look-alike (I always drool over their website) but I didn't have to break the bank to get it :)
Bahahaha, I know this is late but what an amazing post. I totally agree. Those Chace Crawford is super short in person.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Chase Crawford is so much more MY idea of Edward!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Chase Crawford is so much more MY idea of Edward!!!!!!
That is seriously funny and I see what you mean. I am not a huge Bella fan though either. I defiantly like Edward better. The books were so much better though.
Cool. Your models are attractive. Nice promotion too.

I adore your blog!!! I've read it all and you left it with... SPARKLY VAMPIRES!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I'm moving into my sister in law's double wide, which needs fewer repairs than ours and is probably a two year move. We're buying it low, fixing it and selling it for what the others in this place haven steadily gone for. You're site is so helpful and I've read it all. I even subscribed, but if you neglect your blog, like I've neglected mine...good point. I need to show the upgrades and befores on my blog.
Anyway, come back!!!!!! Don't leave me with sparkly vampires. It's just wrong in so many ways.
