Back when I was a single gal dreaming of owning my own home, I used to imagine what it would look like. I always thought it would look like an Anthropologie store…more or less. You know – all artsy and feminine. Now that I actually own my own home, I’m not totally sure why my house looks so…well, normal. Although, it probably has something to do with not wanting to embarrass my son when his friends come over since Anthro stores can be a bit over the top. I still can dream, though. Want to dream with me?
In my dream house I would have this bed. I love this bed. I’ve big fat loved this bed for years. Yes, it’s $1500, and yes, it’s a little over the top, but we’re dreaming here. Remember?
I’d probably add this floofy fluffy white bedding. Doesn’t it look like a cloud? All feminine and dreamy-like?
And may I tell you how much I love this Astrid Chair? I even love the name. And are you noticing that absolutely nothing in my house even remotely resembles the style of this chair? Hmmm, makes one think.
I want one of these letters that I talk myself out of every time I visit Anthropologie because they’re $28. Were they $18 each I would have done it, but that extra $10 is a deal breaker for some reason – which ironically I’ve probably spent over and over again at Starbucks or McDonalds. Go figure.
For my kitchen I want these fancy measuring spoons that would make me smile each time I used them.
Same with this adorable milkmaid butter dish. Oh c’mon. The cuteness is killing me.
And I seriously want to eat off of these dishes…or maybe even just lick them.
And after dinner I’ll retire to the study where I’ll light a few candles…
Sip some tea…
And read Sense and Sensibility…or just gaze at its darling cover.
Ahhh…isn’t it fun to dream.
What would you have in your dream house?

My dream home....funny you ask. While standing in line at the grocery a magazine photo caught my eye. I usually don't buy "off the rack" but this picture of an open family/kitchen room spoke to me. Obviously I bought and stashed it...for the future of course.
As for in a dream..I would love to go all out and scream eclectic....I figure if I were just me...I could pull it off, but Mr. B would die if he came home to a bed like the Italian Canopy Bed...(shhh...about 5 years ago I almost had him sold on it) with colors and patterns dripping from trim to baseboard.
Hahaha...so fun.
Cheers~

There stuff is so unique! I love that chair. Yes, my home would probably look a little different if it was just me. I am far more impractical and daring than my husband is. He balances me out quite well, though. I'm sure I would've gotten into some projects that were way over my head if it weren't for him.
That is a wonderful dream AnNicole! Such adorable things. I'd love to have them all!

My interiors probably wouldn't look that much different to how they look now but we don't seem to have much choice of good quality furniture in the UK (no Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware or Ballard Designs). I'd like to have more places to be able to buy good furniture or junk furniture from. I'm lucky that my husband's taste is similar to mine and he's really easy going so even if he's not sure of something I can always work my way around him. I love the bedding - it's in Country Living Magazine at the moment in the home of Brooke Adams and her family - it looks absolutely gorgeous!
Ahhh...I love this post! So much eye candy! Thanks for sharing:)
I have nearly all the pretties I could dream of to have in my home, but I would love a waterless water heater, Rinnai, and a Comfort Zone heating system! Janell
Thanks for all the eye candy...I luv that store and so does both of my daughters! Hope you hav a FUN day:)
Blessings,
Linda
Oddly enough its not my husband who I decorate around but our three boys... Well sorta! First off, you and I would be sharing that orange chair! I love, love, love it! The kitchen would have stucco walls, tile floors or aged wood, and concrete counters. Splashes of color from the venetian tiles would grace the walls. The air would be spiked with lemon, a touch of garlic, and the yeasty fragrance of freshly baked bread with underlying notes of freshly brewed coffee. Did I mention hardwood floors throughout? Think Tuscan mets European farm house with antiques used daily with a splash of modern by way of a bit of chrome and a red and white mushroom foot stool (which I found at Hobby Lobby and hubby almost got me for Mother's day!!) (I talked him out of it because I want to make one with real leather but it won't anything right now!)
Beautiful! I was going to post something yesterday like "If I had unlimited money" and then redecorate my home. LOL But I'm actually fairly (not completely but fairly) content with my home right now. (At least the living room LOL)
I want to live in your dream house. Love that edition of S&S. Mine isn't nearly that pretty!
I dream of a similar house!
I have wanted that chair for far too long. I'll take your dream home in a heartbeat!
anthro is one of those places i don't even browse b/c I know I can't afford it. i love those measuring spoons though!
A lot of times our "dreams" can inspire us! Of course I like to look and try and come up with a less expensive way to "copy" what I want! This is a great place to start!
All white slipcovered furniture with gorgeous wallpaper and moulding painted floors and lots of Floraline planters in all colors.
Sadly, my house would look like Pottery Barn married Coastal Living. And I would never leave it. :)
Oh now I want to go to Anthropologie:) I love the kitchen spoons and the bedding. Yummy!
I LOVE this. Anthro is my favorite story - but definitley one I dream about more than I shop in!!! Do you think I could register there? :) I mean, what would be more perfect? That bedspread was in country living last month - its goregous!!!

After commenting yesterday, I went to the Anthro site and fell in love w/ the measuring spoons all over again. Let's just say I will be getting a belated Mother's Day gift (all three boys went in together! They try to be sneaky until one comes over and asks me to put in my credit card number and gives me cash to reimburse the charge... They are so funny! Gotta love teenage boys!!)
I love Anthropologie too! I always dream when I am in the store but the price tags bring me back to reality.
Maybe in another life.........
Health and happiness,
Angela

I have only just discovered Anthropologie in the last couple of years. Sadly we don't have it here in Australia but if we did, well, let's just say they should open one near me and I would be their best customer!
Beautiful post and I love everything you have featured!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
I quite seriously think I could live in Ikea. I LOVE that place! Not everything there makes my head spin, but much of it does.... maybe I could just decorate one of thier little apartments from things around the store. How fun would that be?
Love, love Anthropologie and I am a lucky girl as my husband works for Urban Outfitters corporate (who owns Anthro). We have taken advantage of their furniture sample sales and little by little I am filling our home with their beautiful pieces. That chair is too cute and I admire it all the time.
Lovely dream ... lovely blog! Please pop on over to my site to receive your Versatile Blogger award!

Well, my home would probably look same with little differences. I am planning to buy waterless water heater, Rinnai, and a Comfort Zone heating system.

It's amazing how simply changing your robinet will have like a exciting, stimulating impact found on the decor of your robinetterie cuisine. The perfect amalgam of form plus fashion, these fixtures have managed to make the plaudits of homeowners all around the Robinetterie Antique. The new-age, quality Accessoires de salle are more than just generic attributes that perform their features inside an inanimate way. They spray, aerate, filter, scrub plus control temperature of Robinetterie Vasque with trademark efficiency plus consistency.
