Etsy Love - My New Friend "Cozy"

May I mention for the quadrillianth time that I'm originally from Utah? While I love many things about my mountain home, one thing I DO NOT miss (even for 5 seconds...or 2) is 9 months of grey, dark, cold, snowy, icy weather every year. I never appreciated Fall that much before I moved to Oklahoma because A) It was ridiculously short, and B) It was akin to a funeral march for my dearly departed (and way too short) Summer.

I've actually grown to like Autumn since I moved to Okie land. It's long, it's gentle (most of the time), and it gives you a chance to savor the change to crisp weather, bold colored leaves, and to relish in the opportunity to embrace "cozy". Fall is my new friend and her name is "Cozy".

Let me elaborate with the help of my lovely assistant, Etsy.

Go Monkey Go!

I'm in love...with an Etsy store. I know...as a single gal I should probably expand my love horizons a bit, but seriously if you check out this store you'll understand what I'm talking about.

It's called Go Monkey Designs and I showed you one of their great ticking stripe bags in a post last week. After I published the post, however, I spent a little more time exploring their shop and I fell in love with at least 10 different items...I kid you not. See for yourself....

I can't decide if I want red...

Perhaps one of each? They're only $16.50 afterall.

And isn't this skirt adorable?! It's so fun and playful, and yet work appropriate.


And wouldn't this "Spring Fling Granny Bag" be perfect for tooling around town on a bright, summer day? I can just picture it paired with faded jeans, a white t-shirt and an iced coffee...and a scone...so many possibilities.

And how about this adorable little apron? I think I need an apron. I don't cook very often, and I'm not terribly messy...but wouldn't it be so much more fun to cook with a cute little apron on?

Do you see what I mean? I love how the store kind of has a laid back French feel. And honestly, they had me at "ticking stripes". Enjoy!

Art on a Shoestring - Alicia Bock

I love Alicia Bock's photographs. They have such a dreamy quality to them. I imagine her having the coolest life...like something out of a Ralph Lauren ad or a French movie.

You know, wandering through sundrenched fields,

or strolling up and down the beach with the wind whipping through her hair,

or sitting at a French cafe sipping lattes and snapping photos.

I know noboody's life is really that dreamy (she is a mother after all), but that's the sort of ambience her photos have.

I recently bought a package of five of Alicia's postcard prints for $8. I was originally only going to frame a couple of them but I loved them so much I came up with a new plan. I tacked some twine to the wall like a clothesline and then hung the postcards with mini clothes pins.

Tres lovely...(yes, perhaps I should work on my French).

Alicia also has larger prints available for $35 on her Etsy shop or on her website, which is very reasonable in my humble and thrifty opinion. Not that she needs free advertising from me since she's a superstar and all (seriously, her stuff has been on Grey's Anatomy and Sex in the City)...I just had to share with y'all.

I am so impressed by all of the women out there with Etsy shops (,..I'm constantly amazed by women with blogs too, but that's a different post). This is one of the things I love about the internet - that brilliant women now have a place to share their creativity and passion with the world. Love.it.
