I know...it's too early for Christmas wreath show and tell...but I just can't help it. Imagine your 5 year old jumping up and down and saying "Can we show them our wreath mommy?! Can we...can we?!!" Yep...that's me. I'm just so excited!!!
I admired this wreath at Pottery Barn, but not the $79.00 price tag (I'm pretty sure PB is going to start sending me hate mail...I'm sooo sorry PB...I really do love you.).

I knew I could replicate (does that sound better than "blatantly copy"?) this wreath inexpensively.
Enter my faux pine wreath (bought on final clearance at Hobby Lobby last year...it was probably $2).
A whole bunch of ornaments (some I already owned, and some I purchased...for a total of $5).
A few wire ornament hooks to secure the ornaments to the wreath (I wound them around the pine branches).
And voila! My own, lovely, easy, cheap, festive, sparkly...did I mention cheap?...Christmas wreath.
Um...please ignore the leaves on my doormat :).
This post is partying over at Kimba's DIY day. Feel free to head over for more great DIY ideas. We're also partying down at Cindy's party at Cottage Instincts.
Have a great Tuesday!
Very classy. I love it. I have a fresh pine wreath coming from a coworker's daughter's school fundraiser. I may have to try this with it. =)
ReplyDeleteSo Great!!! I love this and it looks exactly like the PB Wreath!! And the burlap hanger puts it over the top!
ReplyDeletewoohoo - knock off SCORE :)
ReplyDeleteSo, if i can be so bold to ask - do you have a metal door? If so, how are you attaching the ribbon that the wreath is hanging from? I saw this from Nester i think and she used thumbtacks in the top of the door? I have a metal door, so i don't think thumbtacks will work...
Very pretty and I love the price tag!
ReplyDeleteI love this....and using the jute webbing was pure genius! You can feel free to link this to my 'made it with what I had' party....certainly meets the criteria :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it is NOT too early and inspired to start mine asap!! The entire scene looks great, the band the wreath hangs on, the wreath itself and the door numbers! A very welcoming front door...Janell
ReplyDeleteOh AnNicole I love it! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Now I'm totally going to copy YOU!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! You done good!!
ReplyDeleteNancy
AWESOME job!!!! And the Burlap ribbon really completes the look!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!! looks beautiful and the price makes it awesome!!
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
Looks fabulous! Your post is soooo funny because I'm making the exact same thing. I loved the PB wreath too, but not the price. I'm using florist wire to attach my ornaments, so I don't have to take them off when X-mas is over. Great minds think a like!!!
ReplyDeleteRachel@Simply Rachel
Sheri - Yep, I used the Nester's technique and fastened the ribbon to the top of the door with upholstery tacks. Sorry...
ReplyDeleteRachel - Wow...talk about great minds :)!
Love it! You might put PB out of business. ;) ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable front door!
ReplyDeleteWow! It turned out great! I'm not super happy with my Christmas wreath, so I may have to spruce it up this year. Love yours!
ReplyDeleteLove it, and the ribbon kicks up the style quotient even more :)
ReplyDeleteJacci
Ooh, I like yours better than the PB one!
ReplyDeleteIt really does look the same! I'm a sucker for anything Pottery Barn :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I've been repurposing everything around my house so that I can decorate in new ways, despite this recession! Love it and can't wait to try it myself!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I love it! I love PB, but really $79 for a wreath? Yours looks just as pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think it looks better than the PB one!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Always love a PB knockoff!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! This is so pretty AnNicole! I'm in the mood now!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteVERY pretty! I gotta try it :)
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS! Your front door looks gorgeous... and I agree with Melissa- I like yours better than PB's! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks LOVELY! Gotta love PB knock offs!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and so easy! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat is so amazing-I am going to see if I can make one too! Thanks for sharing this great idea.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Natasha.
It looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous job! Would give it a try, except mine from a few years ago is still looking good!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog! Your ideas always inspire me and I especially admire that you create them with a budget in mind. I can't wait to try it myself.
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing!! Anyone who can copy something from Pottery Barn for virtually FREE gets LOTS of stars in my book!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, as for Pottery Barn, just remember: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
There, now don't you feel better? ;-)
very pretty! Got to love doing things for less. I am all about that.
ReplyDeleteFabulous!!! Eat your heart out Pottery Barn!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not often that I comment on wreaths, but this one is gorgeous, and so simple! Thanks for sharing your pretty.

Looks great & the ribbon you used adds the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteTurned out beautiful! Love to save money- I'll give this a try! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteLove the copy!! I also love the way you hung it so low on the door! Great look! I'm going to remember that when I hang my wreath this year! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! My Christmas wreath needs a makeover, BADLY!! I'm going to try this I think!
ReplyDeleteGreat replica!!
ReplyDeleteJust found you and I am so looking forward to getting to know you!!
i have a green wreath that I haven't known what to do with for 2 years! Now I know!! Thanks so much! Now how do I make and ugly maroon door cute? I rent - so I can't paint it, or I would. I've been thinking of just covering it in paper for the holidays, so my wreath will look cute!
ReplyDeleteThis Wreath is more me...I have seen lots of tutorials on just the bulb wreath which is fab. but this is even more fab. I love this one. I may have to create it. Its amazing how there are people out there that 79 dollars on a wreath is nothing to them. In this economy, what you have done is so great, and cost friendly.. WAY TO GO!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Pottery Barn should be flattered that you considered their wreath to be worthy of duplication.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT job...I will NEVER buy from them again! LOL (yeah, right!). Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLooks LOVELY! I love a good PB fake out!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You did a great job, it looks better than PB. I love the webbing ribbon too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I fell in love with PB's wreath too, Love your version even more.
ReplyDeleteI agree... very classy and even better than PB.
ReplyDelete(I see so many blogs with bad imitations... but yours is FAB!!)
I love it! Very classy and pretty.
ReplyDeletepk @ Room Remix
Oh I LOVE this idea!! May have to give it a try myself!! Thanks!
ReplyDelete~TidyMom
I bought this wreath four years ago! Now I am super sad!
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks just like the real deal! Great inspiration, I just purchased the stuff I needed to make my holiday wreath!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I saw this wreath and hate the price tag as well!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! Love the upholstery webbing ribbon--I had the same idea and used it all over this year. Even on my tree! :-) Love that rustic touch.
ReplyDeleteHi Annicole! I am loving all these home decor...home improvement blogs that I have found...yours being one of my top 5! I will definitely have to make one of these gorgeous wreathes. Right now I have geranium red paint on my front door...what color is used on your front door? It's black...but not too black...if that makes sense. Keep doing what you're doing...I always look forward to your next post!
ReplyDeleteHello Anonymous - thanks so much for your nice comment. I actually asked for "true black" at Home Depot. I had it mixed in a satin finish though, and I think that might make a difference in how it looks.
ReplyDeleteYou can read about how I painted it here:

Thanks for the idea! Hadn't seen the PB wreath, so officially - I copied you. My daughter and I made our wreath this weekend and it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great! I'm mostly a lurker, but thought I'd let you know how much I enjoy it :)
