Winter Fashion

Friday, December 18, 2009

So this is kind of a crazy post to be doing in the middle of the holiday season, but I thought you might be tired of seeing yet another wreath or garland…and I very selfishly wanted to do it.

Soooo, let’s talk winter fashion, okay? I rarely talk fashion on this blog (seeing as it’s a home decor blog), but I’m giving myself permission to do it today. Why? Because I’m going to be packing for my trip home for Christmas soon. And what do you start thinking about when you’re getting ready to pack? What on earth you’re going to wear (I told you this was a very selfish post)!

So here are some things that have caught my eye lately. Keep in mind – I can’t run out and buy most (um..pretty much any) of this stuff, but it’s fun to pretend, right?

Let’s start with a really cute and warm wool coat like this one from Banana Republic:

This swoonworthy peacoat from J. Crew:

J Crew Wool Harbor Peacoat

Or this affordable option from Old Navy:

And then add a comfy sweater like this one from Ann Taylor Loft (it’s on sale right now for $20!):

Ann Taylor Loft Button Turtleneck

Or this one from J. Crew:

J Crew Dolce Shawl Collar Sweater

A great pair of jeans, like these from Banana Republic:

Or these from Old Navy:

And finally grab some comfy, warm, cute boots, like these Aerosole Boots from Piperlime:

Or these Unisa Boots from Piperlime:

And voila! You’re ready for a winter wonderland.

Have a great weekend!

I saw the Old Navy coat in person and it is adorable! I wanted to get one for my niece but they were out of her size. I love a great pair of boots.

I like that Old Navy coat too and am really on the hunt for some knee high boots like those - my realtor came over to visit and she had on the cutest pair - with her jeans tucked in them - said she got them from Target!! I would never have guessed! I am so going - soon.

Oh - my dad and step-mom sent us our Christmas presents today - of course we opened them - I got a gift card from Lowe's with explicit instructions to go buy a miter saw - oh yeah baby!!

Have a safe trip home and a Happy Holiday to you and your family!

Oh - one more thing - where EXACTLY do we order those hips from - the ones on the models there? Either ones will do - I'm not THAT picky??

Lovely things you picked. I ordered the Banana Republic jacket and was so bummed it wasn't lined! So I sent it back. But the J Crew coat in person is to die for, so that's a great choice.

I would wear all these totally happily!
And that's not often something I can say on the fashion blogs :)

I love the sweater and coat from J. Crew. Just my style.

I think that more people should be aware that a double breasted jacket or coat makes you look "wider". That is why they have traditionally been worn by young men who look a bit too skinny in a suit. This is often not as flattering on women, unless they are quite thin and not very chesty.

Wow her winter cap is very stylish and awesome. Actually in winter I am very confused that how i can wear jewelry for show and which one to wear? But thank you to introduce these clothes. With those type of clothes if I wear eternity rings this will match too much. But I face one more problem and that is people wear hand gloves on their hands. So which ring will be best for me ? Is it platinum eternity ring or any other else ?
