Where’s the Fun At?

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

I wrote a post last week about my love for Anthropologie, and it kind of make me look around my living room and ask myself, “Where’s the fun? Where’s the whimsy? Where’s the personality?”. It just kind of felt a little stiff, a little serious, a little too staged. It was pretty and comfortable, but not totally representative of me. In fact, it’s the only room in the house I haven’t really loved yet. So I thought, and I thunk, and I thinked, and I decided to freshen things up a bit.

I’ll give you the “full reveal” soon, but I will tell you it involved a little of this…

And a dash of this

uo flower stripe rug

And a teaspoon (or gallon) of this

And my own homemade version of this

Anthropologie Ruffled Curtain

Stay tuned!

Love it & cannot wait to see the final reveal! I have been itching to paint my massive TV armoire & bookshelves in the FR recently. I have painted many pieces, but this one is scary! :)

I love a good love story from gorgeous and "safe" to fabulous and fun. We all need to make that leap every once in a while. I am sure I will be inspired.

Hey, I was just thinking about you when I saw that your favorite anthro chair went on sale today... It's only a measly $1,000 now. Ha ha!
Can't wait to see what you're working on. I'm always inspired by you.

Hi AnNicole!

Ahhh, another Anthropologie junkie, rest assured that you are not alone!

Anytime you can incorporate some Anthro elements into your decor, it's a good thing. Can't wait to see the finished product.

So nice to discover you and your lovely blog. :-)

All the best,
Anne

Dear AnMichele,
I just found your blog and love it!
Like you, I believe everybody deserve a confortable home and I'm doing mina in a very low budget, since I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids+2 puppies! I love to be able to be with them, but I love to remodel, reinvent, refinish stuff in a house. i do make a shower curtain myself like Anthro has and feel sooooo good when I finished the project. Anyway, just wonderful to visit here and I'll be happy to follow you and your new adventures with your beautiful Home!
Hugs,
Li :-)

My hubby hates it when I sit and just look around the room. He knows my creative wheels are turning and it will either cost him money or there will be some honey dos coming his way. It sounds like your creativity is in full swing right now. Spring can do that to a girl. I can't wait to see where you go with this. I'm definitely intrigued.
