I’m in Love – With a Polyvore Room

Friday, February 12, 2010

I’m in love…with a fictional room I created in Polyvore. Yes, I should probably set my sights higher, but I’ll take what I can get :). I was, you know…passing some time on a slow afternoon…and wham-o…instant love.

Okay, it’s not earth shatteringly, magazine worthy beautiful, but it’s very me – a little traditional, but still light, airy and kind of playful. Hmmm, now if I only had a place to recreate it in my house. Hmmmm…

What about you? Have you ever created a “fictional room” or seen a room in a magazine that you just had.to.have?

Yes! I've seen two rooms that I just had to have and I am slowly, slowly coping them :). I deliberately stay away from Polyvore because it is addictive! Love this room you created by the way. The pillows are calling my name.

That is a lovely space, let me just invite myself over and cuddle up.

I'll tell you what I have to have - your Photoshop skills (or whatever program you use) cause I want to piece together some dreamy rooms like this so I can stare at them all day. Sigh.

Yes, I have a "fictional" house that I pulled out of Southern Living magazine when I was in high school. I still have it in my scrapbook. It's still beautiful. :) I can't figure Polyvore out, but it looks like fun!

I love your "pretend" room. We purchased a cheap online program to help us visualize our recent renovation and it was so fun to see it all come together, even if it did look a little bit like a house from the Sims!

Oh yes, a very beautiful dressing room just for me. That would be a dream room in my opinion! Complete with seating, a chandelier, built-ins. Ah....Janell

I love this room!

Confession: I actually went and searched around polyvore until I found it, trying to source that ottoman. Oh, and the rug. If only I could ditch the (fabulously child-friendly) dark brown leather sofas for this light and airy room!

That room looks totally doable. A room you could certainly strive to have bit by bit - and well worth the wait.

you are absolutely adorable! I too am a redo enthusiast and just today found your blog when searching clear coat products for painted cabinets. I thank you. I tried polyurethane spray on a test board and it indeed yellowed the white paint. (thank heaven, for once, I made a test board) I then got the krylon clear coat, and it's fabulous.
On further perusal at your site I saw the polyvore you did and would love to know the name of the paint color swatch. It's similar to the grayish blue you use for the clip art design flourishes which I loved immediately. I want to paint a long narrow accent wall in my living area this color.
p.s. when painting metal projects i discovered my husband's spray auto primer is perfect for everything, it will holds up beautifully in high heat (light fixturesd) and also heavy water (think car washes)ha ha, anyway can't wait to enjoy the blog on a regular basis,,,,,,,,,,mcgonagall
