Silence and Action for Haiti

Thursday, January 14, 2010

I had a silly post scheduled to publish today, but after reading this post by Centsational Girl, I instead decided to observe a “day of silence” in order to acknowledge and respect the trauma that so many in Haiti are experiencing right now.

Head on over to Centsational Girl’s website for amazing photos of Haiti and info on how you can make a difference in someone’s life in Haiti right now.

Me and my goofy self will be back tomorrow.

Wow, thanks so much for mentioning me. Yes, it's so hard to be silly with such trajedy in our midst.
Bless you !

My heart is breaking over the devastation. We just got word that a local RCMP officer was killed in the quake. He was working with the UN and just flew back in on Saturday after being home for Christmas. I did not know him personally but my heart is heavy in my chest. I will head over and read Kate's post now....

Wow. I just posted a bit of a silly post with a total trivial party. Don't I feel like an ass now. I think it's beautiful, appropriate, and thoughtful to promote silence and action. My heart breaks for the unimaginable horrors that Haiti is enduring right now. Thanks for the reminder.
